Fairplay’s 30K in a Day! Sponsored Walk

We are delighted to announce that our 30K in a Day! Sponsored Walk was a HUGE SUCCESS and the biggest internal fundraising event we have ever done!!!

IN TOTAL WE RAISED A WHOPPING… £6,042.32

… with some donations still coming through! We believe that we are going to smash our target of £7,500.00

We did this event to celebrate our 30th Anniversary and to raise much needed funds for our children’s services. All the money from this event will go towards supporting the families as well as the children and young people themselves who live with disabilities, as we strive to provide them with a better quality of life.

For those who do not already know the 30K in a Day! Sponsored Walk took place on the 19th of August and involved supporters of Fairplay (businesses and individuals) along with some of our staff walking a total of 30 kilometers each around Lake Buttermere in the Lake District reaching a total of 7 peaks.

…this turned out to be an even harder challenge than we could have ever anticipated! However, considering the difficulties some of the families that we support face, it seems like a walk in the park.

We would like to give a huge THANKYOU to all the Businesses who supported us in these recent months coming up to the walk!

Worldwide Truck Racing

  • We are very grateful for Worldwide Truck Racing for choosing to fundraise for us! In total raising an amazing total of £1,837.00 which has gone towards our Sponsored Walk.

Irwin Mitchell Solicitors

  • Connor Garvey personally raised £385.00 as a Fundraiser for the walk!

Amazon Community Programme

  • Amazon’s Community Programme have very kindly given us a generous donation of £1,000.00 towards the walk. As they believe all children deserve an equal opportunity to reach their full potential!

Brighter Directions, Marketing Company

  • Claire the Marketing Director at Brighter Directions has kindly donated us £100.00 towards our 30K in a Day! Sponsored Walk.

Sawrey House Hotel & Brasserie

  • We have had a lovely offer from Sawrey House in the Lake District of two all-expenses paid nights of bed and breakfast for two people in their Lake view room at their beautiful hotel in Near Sawrey! The location could not be more romantic as it looks down over 3 acres of gardens to breath taking views of Esthwaite Water and Grizedale Forest.

There were also a handful of individuals who stepped up for this event who we would also like to Thank!

Andy Birks

  • The man behind Birkfest just cannot do enough for this charity, even after hosting the biggest Birkfest in its history raising an astounding £48,537.00! He has gone and raised another £790.00 as a Fundraiser for the walk and came along to tackle the challenge with us… we cannot thank this man and his family enough!

Nikki Lowe

  • We know it is a bit cheeky thanking our own employees, but this just had to be said. Nikki alone has raised a total of £1,295.32 along with running training events and practice hikes for our staff members to prepare them for walking 30K at the event which she absolutely smashed leading the group and motivating everyone to push on. We are lucky to have such a wonderful lady who is so passionate and constantly goes above and beyond to support Fairplay. Nikki stands as a shining example of the lengths our employees here at Fairplay are willing to go so that we can continue to support children and young people with disabilities and additional needs and their families across North Derbyshire.

Once again, we just want to say a huge THANKYOU to EVERYONE who supports us!

Any and all support is appreciated by us! If you are interested in Fairplay then why not take a look at our website or our socials? You can also contact us via email or give us a call on our phone number.
