Young People

We provide a safe, supportive, friendly
environment for young people.

Fairplay provides a safe, supportive, friendly environment for young people to socialise, take part in a wide range of activities and develop independence and life skills. Services are available for young people aged 13-25. Services include youth clubs, activity days, Saturday clubs, themed groups and trips.

Independent Living Group (SCaRT, Moving Forward & Enterprise)

The Independent Living Groups are for young adults aged 18 – 25 years  (30 if they are known to us prior to being 25) with disabilities and additional needs who are looking at developing life skills to enable them to live more independently. Our aim is to enable the young adults to reach their full potential and develop the necessary skills and confidence as well as building friendships.

An exciting programme of activities, workshops and trips are adapted to meet the needs of the whole group and delivered by a dedicated and experienced staff team. The groups run from the DCAS Centre both weekdays and Saturdays 10am – 4pm, however there is a 8am until 5pm option during the week, if needed. We have three groups under the Independent Living Group umbrella, based upon young people’s abilities:

– Stretch Challenge and Reach Targets (SCaRT)

– Moving Forward

– Enterprise

In addition to these groups we have a Craft & Gardening Club, as well as volunteering where members of all three groups have the opportunity to join together.

Independent Living Group Plus

The Independent Living Group Plus is for young people with complex healthcare needs and physical disabilities.

The group enables young people to spend time away from home in a safe and supportive environment with an exciting programme of activities and trips out, which are tailored to meet the young person’s individual needs and delivered by a dedicated and experienced staff team.

The Independent Living Group Plus runs from the Fairplay Centre weekdays, between 10.00am – 4.00pm.

During the ILG Plus sessions each young person will have one to one support from a named member of staff. This will ensure continuity of staff for young people.

All young people will be offered a monthly programme of activities, giving the opportunity to engage in social activities, out and about within the local community, as well as a wide range of activities that will help them to enhance their skills and have fun!
